Part Two

Obav was a little late to the party, his white hair was short and brushed back. He was clean shaven and made sure he'd grabbed the things that he would need. A tricorter, phaser and his own personal Kal'hris in a sheath attached to his belt. It was a bladed Andorian weapon that resembled an Ax, with a spike on the back side.

He dropped down into the pilot's seat and looked over the pre-flight Calassi was working on. "You ready to push this thing to its limits today?"

Callisi gave Obav a smirk, "Limits, pffah." she shook her head. "Give me full manual inertial control once we hit atmo and have everyone restrained before then. I'll show you what the pride of Lancer Wing calls flying." that intense streak of pride showing itself, especially since she had someone to brag to.

And someone watching. Someone special.

"Preflight complete. We're just waiting on boots now."

With the medical supplies all organized, sorted and ready to go Liala began moving them into the shuttle so when they were due to leave they could just go. The people they needed to save were in dire straits and there wasn't a moment to lose. "I'm almost finished moving the medical supplies in." she commented walking passed Obav.

"Oh, be still my blue heart," Obav smirked at Callisi. "I'm not half bad behind the stick myself."

=^= Hawkins to Rescue Teams,=^= the captain's voice came over the intercom of all the shuttles and fighters. As the hatches sealed behind them, those staying on Gladiator made their way back into the corridors ways of the ship. He walked through the corridor and took a deep breath as he passed staff rushing through the inners of the ship to make all this happened.

=^= This time has been coming for a long time. There are no words that can express the magnitude of gratitude and pride we, who have been in those very positions years before, got for what you are all about to endure. But in the end, there isn't enough. Each and everyone of us were not designed to handle the extreme that we saw then and will see down there. This will mess with each and everyone of you in very different ways,=^= David paused as he stood in front of the turbolift and signed.

=^=There will be time to overcome those thoughts, feelings and emotions that may come. But keep in mind that each and every one of you are going into end this, save our people, and come home alive. I will not except anything less. I don’t want to get any messages saying, ‘I am holding my position.’ We are not holding a damn thing. Let the damn bastards do that. We are advancing constantly, and we are not interested in holding onto anything, except the enemy’s balls. We are going to twist his balls and kick the living shit out of them, each and everyone of them. Our basic plan of operation is to advance and to keep on advancing regardless of whether we have to go over, under, or through the enemy. At the end of the day, I want all of them taken down, and their operations smoldering. Once we are done, first round it on me. Rescue Teams, stand by for high risk launch procedures. Hawkins Out.=^=

There it was; another inspiring speech that Pallas could look forward to pulling off one day. For now, the cadet simply looked at all of the officers, Starfleet's finest, and steeled her mind against the fear and anticipation that threatened to overwhelm her. This, she reminded herself, was why she had signed up for the Academy in the first place: the opportunity to save people from unnecessary suffering. This was Starfleet using its technology and strength for the good of others; there was no higher calling. And if she could do even a small bit to keep anyone else alive now, she was going to make sure she did her damn best, no matter how small the contribution of a greenhorn cadet like her was.

Aarva hadn't much had time to concentrate on the captain's rousing speech. She'd been too busy snatching up the nearest engineering kit and phaser and sprinting all the way to the shuttlebay as fast as her hooves could carry her. Finally, the chance to go on her first away mission! Trepidation and anxiety bubbled within her stomach every step of the way, but who cares, she wasn't about to pass up this opportunity.

"H-Hold up, wait for meeeee!" Aarva hollered as she careened towards the shuttle, clutching the large plastic engineering kit to her chest... and then her hoof chose the second she sped up the ramp to catch on the edge and send her tipping forward, which caused her to faceplant on the floor of the shuttle. "Sorry. Sorry..." The poor young Kelpien felt her entire face redden with embarrassment as she picked herself up and sat down next to her department head, the only familiarity she could find, aside from Pallas of course. She could feel the gazes of the rest on her; they must be thinking I'm such a klutz and I probably trip over my feet like this on the regular, she thought to herself as she sank into her seat, looking a bit deflated.

As the scramble continued, in getting onto the various craft, one of the Pilots shouted out, "Aarfa, are you ready to fly? Get to your craft!" before climbing into his. Then another shouted, "Bailey, are you ready as well?"

"What?" Aarva's head shot up in a panic. "Wh- Who was that? I- I don't know how to fly a shuttle, I've just got here!"

At the same moment, Aarfa sprang forward. "Ready, sir!" she called as she headed for the shuttle.

Those that were near Aarva. "Look you had better get up there, they want you to go fly. So get going and don't waste time." giving a slight shake of the head.

"B-But-" Aarva looked completely befuddled. "I-I'm not a shuttle pilot! I'm an engineer!" She glanced around her in a panic, clutching her engineering kit like a lifeline. "There must be a mistake-"

Meanwhile after checking her medical supplies, Willow noticed that Timia had arrived. "Commander Svidi, medical supplies are ready and loaded."

Timia dropped down her own medical kit, which she had packed specifically for treatment of a pregnant woman. "Good, we're going to need all we can get I suspect. If any one of our people are still alive that is." she said cynically. She looked towards the front where the pilots were chatting, "Lets get this bird moving." she said with some stress to her voice. She hadn't faced combat in a while.
